Two different things get called "certification" in this industry: the certificates covering the facility, and the documents required to place a specific product on a specific market. Both matter, and they are not interchangeable.
Facility certificates
- GMPC — Good Manufacturing Practice for cosmetics, audited, covering the site and its quality system
- ISO 22716 — the international cosmetics GMP standard
- Halal — ingredient origin and production segregation, for markets that require it
- ISO 9001 — quality management, complementary rather than equivalent to GMP
Each certificate has a scope and an expiry date. We provide the current copies with every new client onboarding, and we will tell you which legal entity each one is issued to.
Product documentation
- Certificate of analysis (COA) per batch
- Material safety data sheet (MSDS/SDS)
- Full ingredient list with INCI names and percentages
- Stability and packaging compatibility reports
- Microbiological challenge test results
- Heavy metal and microbiological test reports from accredited third-party labs
- SPF, PA and clinical efficacy reports where a claim depends on them
Market access support
European Union. We prepare the product information file inputs and the CPSR data pack that your Responsible Person needs for CPNP notification. The notification itself must be filed by an EU-established Responsible Person, which we can introduce you to but cannot be.
United States. MoCRA brought facility registration and product listing into force, with a Responsible Person requirement. We provide the manufacturing information your US agent needs, and we confirm ingredient restrictions against US requirements before production.
United Kingdom. SCPN notification through a UK Responsible Person, on the same basis as the EU route.
GCC and ASEAN. Product registration dossiers, free sale certificates and consular legalisation, coordinated with your local agent.
What we cannot do
We are a manufacturer, not a regulatory authority or a legal adviser. We cannot sign as your Responsible Person in the EU or UK, and we cannot guarantee a regulator's decision. What we can do is give you a complete, accurate document set and flag problems before they become shipments held at a border.
If a claim on your artwork is not supported by the testing you have, we will say so. That conversation is cheaper before the print run. Read more about the individual certifications and what each one covers.
